Returning To Play

The MSVBA Board and Committee Chairs have been working behind the scenes to make sure all of the pieces are in place to get things rolling. The plan is to be ready to kick off the Fall 2022 MSVBA volleyball season. But we NEED your help! As you probably know, the board and committee roles are volunteer positions (appointed by the board). Many of the previous members had been in their roles for several years prior to the pandemic, and it is time for some new members to get involved.

We have been talking to a lot of you about volunteering and continuing to support volleyball in the state of Maine and many have already started to raise their hands. We will definitely need more people to fill in the open positions. Some will be immediate needs for roles and committees and some will be future needs for tournaments or events.

Here is what to expect and what we need from you:

1. Review the Google document outlining the available positions. There will be more needs in the future.
2. Contact Us to let us know how you would like to get involved and if there is a particular committee that interests you more than another. Do you have particular skill sets that could help our board and volleyball community?
3. We are starting an email list for future communications. If you are not certain that MSVBA has your current contact info, please forward your email and phone number to [email protected] so that you will get all future MSVBA email communications, or look to see if you got a request on FB Messenger from Samantha Commeau asking for the same information (it could be in your message requests if you are not friends on FB).
4. Our next Board Meeting is this THURSDAY, July 28th at 6:30pm. It will be in person in Gorham so please let us know if you would like to attend. Shortly after that our committees will start to meet to get everything ready for our first tournament.
5. Erica Champman is going to be our new Tournament Coordinator!! She has done an amazing job running some tournaments over the past year and keeping everyone on the court! But remember, we will still need Tournament Directors. Comment below if that is something that interests you!
