MSVBA Needs Your Help!

MSVBA Needs Your Help!

What if there were no more MSVBA tournaments??

This may sound far-fetched, but it’s actually happened before. Let’s not allow it to happen again! MSVBA has an all-volunteer Board of Directors, and we need your help. The tournaments do not organize themselves, the swag orders don’t place themselves, and the website doesn’t run itself. Lots of time and effort goes into making MSVBA what it is. If you get something out of your involvement with the Maine volleyball community, maybe you’d like to consider how you can give something back?

Interested in helping or learning more?

There are many ways to get involved. If you’d like to see more about how the board works, attend a meeting. They’re open to all members, and the next one is scheduled for May 19 at noon. Please RSVP to our President, Andrew Beety, so we can make sure the venue is large enough to accommodate those who wish to attend.

Ready for a bigger commitment? We hold elections for two of the four officers every year, and this year we’re electing our President and Secretary. Speak with the Elections’ Chair, Eric Beausoleil, for more information on nominating someone or running yourself. Eric is looking for volunteers to help man the polls at the last two tournaments

Board meetings not your thing?

There are other ways to help! Our tournament committee, chaired by Aaron Whitten, is looking for more people to help organize tournament sites and direct tournaments. Our technology committee, chaired by Jason Burks, is looking for more technology-minded people to help improve our website and enhance our other electronic communications. There are other committees looking for members, too. Visit our website, www.msvba.org, to see a list of committees and their chairs. If one of them sounds appealing to you, reach out to its chair and ask how you can get involved!

The Contact form on the website can put you in touch with many of the officers or committees. If you don’t see who you’re looking for there, email webmaster _at_ msvba.org and your email will be relayed to the right person.
