1/15/23 MARK PARENT NEEDS A HEART: RCO C/B-

MSVBA will be hosting a fundraiser for Mark & Candice Parent on 1/15/2023 at Colby College.

The venue address is: 4000 Mayflower Hill, Waterville, Maine

Mark and Candice have been a part of the volleyball community for decades contributing as players, coaches, and mentors. This family now needs our support as Mark is currently hospitalized and awaiting a heart transplant. Candice is traveling back and forth between Maine and Boston, balancing the busy schedules of their five kids while supporting Mark and his care.  All proceeds from this tournament will go directly to Candice’s PayPal account when you sign up.  Colby College has graciously donated the gym time in support of fundraising for our dear friends.  See the comments for additional opportunities to support via the Go Fund Me link.

Registration opens at 8:30 am
Captain’s meeting 8:45 am
1st Match warm-ups 8:53 am
1st Match begins at 9:00 am

RCO C (5 team pool)
RCO C+ (cancelled)
RCO B- (5 team pool)

10 days prior to the tournament, we will evaluate the team sign-ups and make any adjustments as needed.

Pool play is 2 sets to 25 (start at 4-4) against every team. The top 3 teams make playoffs. The 5th place team will work the 1st play-in game or Semi-finals. That losing team works the next match. Playoffs are best of 3, 2 to 25 (start at 4-4), and the 3rd set to 15 (start at 0-0) if Semis begin at or before 4:00 pm, and finals at or before 5:00 pm. The match will be 1 set to 25 (start at 0-0) if it begins after those deadlines.

The cost of this tournament is $200.00. To register, please pay online via PayPal.  All online payments will go DIRECTLY to The Parent’s PayPal account.  Therefore, no refunds will be issued and will be considered a donation.

We will be treating all PayPal payments received within 48 hours of the tournament posting as equal payments.  If we receive more payments than the allotted number of tournament spots in that timeframe, the teams will be picked at random.  Any payments received thereafter will be on a first-come, first-serve basis as space allows.
